WRT CNC
The NC1600 is the most innovative numeric control to have emerged in recent years. Thanks
to over 20 years of experience of hardware and software design, this new control from CNI
really does satisfy the latest needs in the areas of robotics and machine tools, and combines
high performance and ease of system configuration.
The most innovative aspect of the NC1600 is its software kernel developed entirely in CNI
and offering real time multitasking performance. This kernel is the heart of the NC and
supports the motion control software, the PLC software and Windows XP, which serves as
operator interface and manager for network connections, including remote assistance
connections.
Unlike other NCs that use networked microprocessor systems, the NC1600 uses just one CPU,
thus optimizing costs and improving reliability.

Benefits for the user include a non-real time Windows interface that is easy
to customise and easy to integrate just like any other standard Windows application, but
still delivers the high performance levels normally needed for numeric axis control and PLC
I/O signal handling.
Hardware
The basic hardware comprises an industrial PC with Celeron 2.4 Ghz CPU which is
totally compatible with commercial hardware and software.
3 PCI slots are available for system expansion. One of these can be used for a
PC600 card to interface with the digital field bus for the drives (Mechatrolink)
to control up to 45 axes distributed over various work centres, and to interface
with the E-Net field bus for connecting the various I/O devices available in CNI’s IP67 range.
Special hardware solutions with CAN-BUS field interfaces are also available.
Versions
The NC1600 is available in various hardware versions designed for ease of use in
different applications.
The “FRAME” version permits basic consoles to be installed remotely at distances of
up to 10 metres, with special converters available to permit VGA, mouse and keyboard
signals to cover distances of up to 100 metres.
All consoles are die-cast and feature IP65 front panels with 15” TFT LCD (also available in
a touch screen version), an extremely reliable alphanumeric keyboard, and another
keyboard with 14 customizable function keys with PLC logic interface. Special accessory and
custom consoles can also be made to order.
